CAMINO DE SANTIAGO - FRANCE | SPAIN

In July of this year I carried a 12kg backpack containing three pairs of underwear, three pairs of socks, a one man tent, a few changes of clothes and walked 890km across Spain. Starting in France, I made my way across the Pyrenees Mountains, photographing a continuous outdoor museum of Spanish history, culture and of course, landscape...

Here are a few tiny selects of my favorite images. Only 15 minutes of retouching has been done on each image (contrast).  I hope to exhibit the entire collection at some point in the foreseeable future.

Golden Eagles and Egyptian Vultures soared high above me during my first day of walking across the Pyrenees mountains, crossing the border from France to Spain...

Do you feel like you are falling.. off the edge of the earth...?

Crossroads. A very symbolic image for the Camino ... just outside of Pamplona

My favorite.

"The Open Road"
To me, this is the gateway to the Camino De Santiago. I have this box framed and printed at 1m x 1.5m. People usually stop and stare at it for a long time as it could take you anywhere, like the Camino, literally.

These images are only the beginning of the series... The Camino De Santiago really opened my eyes as to how unique, beautiful and diverse landscapes are and I can honestly say, I absolutely loved capturing it in my own little world ... ; )

Should you like to purchase any of these images or see anymore, please email me or "like" my Facebook page. My website is www.juliawheelerphotography.com ...
